From Abbazia di Farneta, with its 10th-century apse comprised of three chapels, head out by bike across level terrain through the Val di Chiana • Arrive in the historic hill town of Cortona, immortalized by Frances Mayes in her novel Under the Tuscan Sun.

Day 2 and 3: Monday, June 13, 2005 & Tuesday, June 14, 2005
